Welcome!

On this blog Tracy Hill and Emma Gregory have uploaded research into ‘non-toxic’ intaglio aquatints. Initially this involved two sets of experiments on 16 aquatints: strip tests and spit bites.

The article in September’s Printmaking Today summarises these results.

The blog is an invitation to get involved. Upload your comments and questions, images of your beautiful aquatints, and not-so-beautiful ones.

If we pool our knowledge we will learn from one another.

Note: we would have preferred to call this blog ‘safer intaglio’ but ‘non-toxic’ seems to be the term most commonly used to describe these aquatints so, for the sake of the browser, ‘non-toxic’ is the name used here.
